- September 14, 2007- Oden had microfracture surgery on his ailing right knee. He missed the entire season.
- Although picked first overall in the 2007 NBA Draft, Oden was classified as a rookie for the 2008–09 season ecause of the knee injury.
- February 13, 2009- he injured his left knee in a game against the Golden State Warriors, by bumping knees with opponent Corey Maggette, and missed three weeks due to a fractured knee cap.
- December 5, 2009- Oden injured his left knee in the first quarter and was taken off the court on a stretcher. He underwent surgery for a fractured left patella and will miss the rest of the season. This injury marks the second time Oden has missed major playing time due to injury.

- January 14,2008- Griffin suffered a sprained Medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his left knee five minutes into the Sooners game against the Kansas Jayhawks.
- Less than two months after injuring his left knee, he injured his right knee against Texas A&M. The injury this time was torn cartilage, and he had arthroscopic surgery, March 2, 2008.
- October 25, 2009- suffered a stress fracture in his left knee against the New Orleans Hornets, putting off his NBA debut for several weeks.
- January 13, 2010- after tests revealed that Griffin's knee was not recovering properly, it was reported that Griffin would require another surgery to repair the fracture, and will be out for the season.
